Traction Lumbar Brace

Traction Lumbar Brace

The lumbar brace is a commonly used orthopedic brace for conservative treatment of waist injuries and postoperative rehabilitation. Its core functions are to stabilize the lumbar spine, reduce load and relieve pain.

Typical Symptoms of Applicable Users
a. Acute lumbar sprain, lumbar muscle spasm: Severe sharp pain in the waist. Patients cannot bend over or turn their bodies, and face great difficulties walking normally.
b. Mild to moderate lumbar disc herniation in attack stage: Waist pain with radiating pain in lower limbs. The symptoms get much worse after long-time sitting or standing.
c. Mild osteoporotic lumbar compression fracture: Obvious stabbing pain in the lower back when turning over or standing up.
d. Lumbar spondylolisthesis, lumbar instability: The waist feels weak, and there is an obvious sense of misalignment during body movements.
e. Recovery period after minimally invasive or open lumbar surgery: Obvious pulling pain when the waist exerts force, making patients afraid to get out of bed and move normally.

Core Practical Functions
a. Support and reduce pressure‌: It maintains the normal physiological curve of the lumbar spine, disperses the weight of the upper body, and reduces the pressure on the intervertebral discs.
b. Limit abnormal movements‌: It controls the range of waist bending and waist twisting within a safe limit, to avoid repeated aggravation of symptoms.
c. Quickly relieve pain‌: It reduces muscle pulling and nerve irritation, enabling patients to get out of bed to walk and finish daily activities normally.

Precautions for Use
a. The continuous wearing period generally should not exceed 4 weeks. Long-term full-day wearing will lead to lumbar back muscle atrophy.
b. For severe fractures, cauda equina nerve compression, and complete numbness and weakness in lower limbs, do not rely only on the brace for conservative treatment. Seek clinical medical help in time.
c. The proper tightness is defined as leaving space for 1 to 2 fingers to slip in. Too tight a brace will affect breathing and abdominal blood circulation.
