Foot Brace

A Simple Guide to Foot Brace

If your feet get sore after a long walk, or your ankle feels stiff after a mild sprain, a foot brace is a very practical little helper.

It is not a normal thick sock. It usually has a foot arch pad or soft support strips on both sides of the ankle. It holds your arch firmly, and stops your ankle from turning inward too far. It will not lock your foot completely, so you can still walk and go up and down stairs easily.

Wear it when you need to stand for hours or walk a long way. Your arch will not sink under all the weight, and the soreness in your foot will get much lighter. If you wear it after a mild ankle sprain, it stops your ankle from twisting around too much, so you recover faster.

It is super easy to use: slip the brace over your foot, line the arch pad right under your foot arch, and make sure the ankle support strips sit on the inner and outer sides of your ankle. Stick the Velcro tight. The right fit is when your toes can move freely and your foot does not feel numb.

Do not wear it all day. Take it off after a few hours to rest, and move your toes and ankle sometimes. This will keep the muscles in your feet strong.
