A Simple Guide to Knee Support
If your knee feels sore after sports, or heavy when you go up and down stairs, a knee support is a very practical little helper for daily use.
It is different from hard post-surgery knee braces. Most of them are made of stretchy knitted fabric, with soft support strips on the sides. It wraps your knee gently, gives soft pressure and steady support, and will not feel stiff or tight on your leg. You can still walk, jog and do housework easily with it on.
Wear it before playing ball games or running. It stops your knee from wobbling too much, and lowers the risk of sprains. If your knee feels cold or sore after standing for long hours, it keeps your knee warm and takes some pressure off the joint, so the discomfort gets much lighter.
It is super easy to use: slip the knee support over your leg, line the hole in the middle right over your kneecap. Pull it up slowly until it fits snugly against your thigh and calf. The right fit is when you can bend your knee freely and the brace will not slide down.
Do not wear it all day long. Take it off after you finish sports or when you rest, and move the muscles around your knee. This will keep your legs more relaxed.
